Springtime Activities to Enjoy in Winter Park

Spring is one of the best seasons in Winter Park—and not just for the great snow conditions. The mountain plays host to a variety of fun-filled events from a Mardi Gras celebration to themed weekends that make it a cultural destination. Keep reading to see what’s on! 

Mardi Gras 

It’s Mardi Gras in Winter Park on March 5 from 12-5pm and the whole village is getting in on the celebrations! Shops and restaurants will offer festival-themed specials (like beer battered shrimp po’boys at Stoney’s Bar and Grill, and assorted shots at Goody’s), there will be live music performances from Brothers of Brass, beads and prizes to win, cosmic ice skating, and much more. The fun kicks off with a parade starting at the top of the Cabriolet at 2:30pm. 

Spring Bash + Splash 

Taking place across four weeks starting from April 2 until April 24, Spring Bash + Splash rings in the season with live music, special events, and, of course, awesome skiing and snowboarding. First up on April 2 is the Big Wonderful Beer Fest & Bluegrass, which shines the spotlight on all things local: breweries, food vendors, and blue grass bands. Then, there’s the Country Bash on April 9 complete with a mechanical bull and axe throwing. The Retro Bash on April 16, where attendees are encouraged to dress in their favorite throwback gear while they jam out to 80s and 90s tribute bands. And, finally, the Beach Bash and Spring Splash on April 23 and 24 to cap it all off: think surfing on fresh powder, tropical drinks, and Colorado’s most iconic pond skim.
